Jaden Smith didn’t have a hot date to the 2017 Met Gala. So he brought his dreadlocks instead.
Jaden Smith has become the talk of the town after the stunt he pulled at the event.
The Met Gala is fundraising event that happens every year for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Most celebrities rocked the red carpet with a partner or fashion accessory on their arm. But not Jaden Smith.
The 18-year-old son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith posed on the red carpet with his old dreadlocks in his hands.
You read that right. His old dreadlocks that were cut off two weeks ago!
Back in April, Will cut off Jaden’s dreadlocks and took to Facebook to share the father-son moment.
It seems as if Jaden just couldn’t let go of his hair and kept it.
What’s more, the infamous dreadlocks survived the journey to New York and made the ultimate red carpet debut at fashion’s biggest night.
We know we can’t be the only ones wondering why Jaden would do such a thing.
Jaden brought his hair as a date because his sister Willow wasn’t able to make it. “And since I couldn’t bring my sister as a date, I brought my old hair,” he said.
Aww! How sweet is it that? But it still doesn’t excuse the hair fiasco.
Jaden also upped his accessory game by showing off a gold grill for the world to see as well as a high-heeled pair of boots.
What do you think of Jaden Smith’s fashion choices?
