Trevor Noah dedicates Best Host award to his mom

South Africa’s golden boy, Trevor Noah, has put the country on the map yet again by winning a prestigious award.

The comedian took home the Best  Host award for the Daily Show at the 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards. The awards were held in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

While he was accepting the Golden Popcorn trophy, Noah made a heartfelt speech dedicated to his mom, Patricia Nombuyiselo Noah.

“I never dreamed of this was possible growing up in South Africa. There is one person I aspire to be every single day, and that is my mom: a powerful, strong black woman who never listened when people told her she couldn’t be more and everyday I look up to her I dream of being a shadow of who she is, my hero.”

Then Noah switched over to politics and thanked US President Donald Trump for “the comedy”.
