The shocking video of a truck blown over on the N1 near Worcester in during the sever Cape Town storm is making it’s rounds on social media
The video, taken by motorists traveling behind the truck, shows what appears to be the driver’s attempt to control the truck, eventually coming to a halt just before the truck is completely blown over on the highway.
The province’s disaster management centre is dealing with a range of crises in the region, the Western Cape government has said. Heavy rainfall, strong winds and waves between 9m and 12m raged along the coastal areas of the Cape Peninsula this week.
So far, nine people have been reported to have died in incidences related to the severe storms; four people were killed in a fire caused by a lightning strike in Kraaifontein and at least one person is reported to have died due to a house collapse in Lavender Hill.
The video shows just how intense the wind speeds during the storm actually were.
Western Cape residents on Thursday began cleaning up, following the aftermath and damage by the storm and cold front.
